There are lots of things in my life that I have learned to love.

My first love is the arts. I have loved sketching since age 3. When I got bored with Barbie dolls, I started to love Legos! I still have the ol' bucket half-filled with those little colorful blocks. I love creating Lego houses with nice exteriors and interiors... I love needlework. I love making my own clothes. I got addicted to cross-stitching too.

When I got older, I started to love computers. So I got a computer-related degree in College. It is where I discovered that I learn best by figuring out how stuff works.

When I started earning, I also started to love traveling. I haven't gone that much as a lot of people have, but I really love it when I get out of town especially when riding a plane. I learned to love the beach that I used to despise because I didn't want to get dark. Now I can't wait for summer. I have also been going to Baguio every year since 2001.

But if there's one thing that I have truly learned to love and I'm truly passionate about, it's FRIENDSHIP.

I love my friends-- especially the Very Few Specials. And I find these things so amazing: (1) how much I can give; and (2) how much I have received.

I love the fact that I can be spontaneous with a friend. Anything goes. Wanna go ride a plane out of town? Game! Let's get the tickets now... I love it when we talk about life and love over coffee. When we spend four hours at Coffee Bean counting beamers passing by. When we go to gigs and gimiks and dance the night away. When we do sleepovers. When we talk about vacations, fashion, movies, jokes, bloopers... it never ends! I love the reconciliations after fights. I love that we get to help each other and feel really good about it. And I especially love it when I learn something new from her. When I do really good, I get a huge peck on the cheek.

I love the fact that I can travel far to be there for them. All-time-high is about 2 to 2.5 hours from home. It's one of those rare times when we would catch up on stuff about work, about family, etc. We become our official/unofficial shrinks. Then I would forget how long I got stuck in traffic because I see him happy and relieved having unloaded. And that already feels good. But it never ends there. I would get a simple but heartfelt "thank you" and nice warm hugs. His last text may seem ordinary...

"Sobrang thanks Myles! I know I could count on you. Thanks for being the coolest! I will miss our hangout days. The best ka talaga. Thanks for the great friendship! :)"

...but it almost got me in tears. Mami-miss ko to'. Haaay!

I love the "Thank You" parts. Two words. Simple yet melting. More so when they add words like "Super", "Talaga", "Sobra", "Very Much". Hehe. Another friend went beyond the usual. I've been a constant follower of his solo gigs for a year now. Last night's was second to the farthest I've gone to. With his microphone, he acknowledged: "Mareng Myls!!! Wala kang kakupas-kupas!" Haha panalo! That was so funny, at na-heart ako don. That's one of the best "thank you's" I ever got.

Doing something out of your passion comes with unmatched sense of fulfillment. I love knowing that I'm capable of being selfless, especially when I'm with them. Some people look for their special someones to give them a reason to live. I may not have what they're looking for, and I admit that I'm too lazy to find one (hehe), but I'm proud to have my FRIENDS. That in itself is a big reason for enjoying life.

So to my friends... to the very few specials... super love ko kayo! (Kayo naman manlibre saken! Haha)
