Griffin & Sabine

I can't remember the last time I bought a book. I think it was JRR Tolkien's Trilmarillion that I never got to read and now, I have no idea where it is. See, I'm not a bookworm. Too lazy hehe. I hardly take risks with books and I don't read them unless there's a big hype that would keep me curious. And I usually just borrow since I don't read them again. The last one I read before this was Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows, which was also borrowed.

Last weekend though, I thought of reading again. After church yesterday, I went straight to the bookstore and finally got myself Griffin and Sabine: An Extraordinary Correspondence by Nick Bantock.

I absolutely loved the book! In fact, I'm starting to develop an addiction to it. It's a story of Griffin Moss, an artist in London and Sabine, whom the author describes as a "strangely exotic" woman from an island in the Pacific, who mysteriously sees Griffin's paintings as he creates them. The book teases the mind and lets you read their story through the characters' originally crafted postcards and letters.

The book is the first of the first trilogy, with Sabine's Notebook and The Golden Mean. The character's story is further expanded on the second trilogy named "Morning Star". And my mission: to collect all of them! Hehe.

There's a second book that I bought too: The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho, recommended by Noel. Will tell you all about it here as I read it, or when I'm done. I also want to read all of Sophie Kinsella's book.

Any other recommendations? Not too heavy ones though hehe. I'm a just a beginner :p

Goin' Ziggy

Dear God,

Thank You for a fully-booked Saturday 3 weekends ago... My new friend from Pennsylvania and I had a great chat over AIM... Noel and I had fun at the weekend park early in the morning; and we had a good time at the grocery buying stuff for the night's party... Steven and I finally had a much-awaited Quality Time (QT) at Bo's Coffee with his laptop. We chatted, watched videos and listened to Country. It was awesome! I missed QT with Teban... I love my new hair dryer; You know I can't live without one hehe... B'ley and I had a movie date and we watched Mamma Mia! It's really good!.. Finally, there's the Death by Karangyaan party that night where we had more good vibes and more bonding. It was more meaningful and memorable, ending with me feeling good about myself.

Thank You for last weekend too. Jon and I finally met after a long time. It was nice sharing Corned Beef Sinigang and Fried Kesong Puti with him on Sunday. I also had a nice foot spa before dinner.

Thank You for the heartwarming chat Noel and I had yesterday.

And just when I thought the week's going to end with me feeling down, You sent me an angel to the rescue (na ayaw pumayag na gorgeous ako). I realized how much we're growing as good friends and we're both lucky to have each other. I feel loved :)

Thank you for ending my week with good vibes again.

Amen.

Don't Wear Blue

One day I got off work with my body aching. I decided to take the long ride home via bus so that I won't have to go up and down from the MRT. So I picked my bus, unfortunately with an annoying conductor. It was jampacked with office folks but they're getting off on the next stop so I squeezed myself in.

The conductor kept on telling us to move at the back. We did except that I got stuck at the middle because manong infront of me wasn't moving. The annoying conductor turned out to be worse...

"Paki-usog na lang po sa likod! Paki-usog na lang po sa likod!... Yung babae, yung naka-blue, yung MATABA! ....na maganda!"

I looked at the passengers that came in with me. I was the only one wearing blue. $%#*@%$*^$#$&(@!!! Too bad I was too tired to challenge manong for a boxing match.

So take my advise. Blue makes you fat so don't wear it. LOL.

(demmet!)

? ? ?

What have I contributed to the world in the last 15 minutes?

Does coffee really wake you up or it is just psychological?

Do I really believe in my own confidence?

Is too nice boring?

Can one really detach without being indifferent?

Will I ever learn to like Valentine's Day?

...Some things just make me stop and think.

Anyone Else But You

I just completed downloading Owen's request- OST of Juno, and I found this song super cute! An original by The Moldy Peaches; here performed by Michael Cera and Ellen Page. I like the last part. Enjoy!

Anyone Else But You

You're a part time lover and a full time friend
The monkey on your back is the latest trend
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Here is the church and here is the steeple
We sure are cute for two ugly people
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

We both have shiny happy fits of rage
I want more fans, you want more stage
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

You are always trying to keep it real
I'm in love with how you feel
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

I kiss you on the brain in the shadow of a train
I kiss you all starry eyed, my body's swinging from side to side
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me
So why can't, you forgive me?
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Du du du du du du du du du du du
Du du du du du du du du du du du
I don't see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you

Mumoment, Stumarbucks

Saturday morning and Coffee Jelly. I had my usual no-whip grande with a chocolate-frosted donut (masarap daw sabi ni Mammy). Ron had a whipped grande and shared his cinnamon roll and oatmeal cookie. Neil had his favorite Caramel Macchiato. A perfect call-it-a-week.

Chill lang. After a few minutes, Neil finished his drink, Ron was busy scooping the jelly from his and I still have two-thirds to finish. I rested my left arm with the elbow against the table, and my hand (unconsciously) rested with the palm up. I got myself busy chatting and enjoying my drink. Starbucks has the best coffee jelly ever. Suddenly, I felt something cold touching my left palm. In my mind I went "what the hell?!?!" And we burst into LOL! It was coffee jelly! Four wet cubes sitting on my palm. Ang salarin said,

"Kala ko humihingi ka eh. Hahahaha!"

"Hahahahahaha.... malagkit yan eeeeeh!!!"

He wiped it off after having a good laugh at it. Panalo. May araw ka rin (hahaha!).

Happy Weekend! :-p
