Minutes of the Boracay Trip
11/28 to 12/3

Day 1

  • Almost missed the flight to Kalibo coming in late at the airport. Because I’m so dead set at getting to Bora, I had to say, “Are you kidding me???” to the check-in counter in-charge who tried to deny us entry. Ehehe
  • We reached our stop at station 1 and not long after, “OH MY GAAAD!... OH MY GAAAAAD!!!...I LOVE IIIIIT!!!! Sige, kayo muna mag-lunch, dito muna ko!” I saw THE Boracay beach for the first time. “I love it” is an understatement. Thank God that I’m here; and that I’m here with great people.

  • At Jonah's, B’ley and I shared a whole chicken and I went “milkshake hopping”. Well actually, just switching from my mango shake to Ron’s papaya-mango shake.

  • Evening. B’ley, Jong and I walked to station 2. Had a hotdog along the way. Met Owen, Rui, and the others at Hey Jude. Had dinner at Smoke. Lounged at Café del Mar.

Day 2

  • Owen knocked at our door at 4:30am to invite us for some drinks. Perfect! I couldn’t go back to sleep anymore so I went out in my pajamas and joined him with Ron and Joey. Jong followed immediately. We had a great chill/joke session over Bailey’s.
  • It’s 6:00am and the sun is just rising. I just love the beach in the morning. Now I can proudly say I love Boracay in the morning. I took some pictures and B'ley joined me after a few minutes. An hour passed and we’re off with Jong to have a hearty breakfast at The Regency. We were craving for bacon. Hehe.

  • Met everyone at the beach after breakfast and we all had a great time catching the waves. Everyone’s camera flashed while basking in the sun. But of course!

  • Evening. We walked to station 2 stopping by isaw and balut vendors along the way. Talk about firsts, I tasted my first tenga and isaw courtesy of Neil and Ron. Not bad! We reached station 2 to meet the others and then later, we bought dinner to go. We hurried and crashed to the other room to catch Amazing Race Asia. B’ley and I had a whole chicken, again, while watching. Hehe. After a few hours, it’s bedtime.

Day 3
  • B’ley, Jong, Owen and I went out to the beach and headed to Sands at Discovery Shores to grab coffee and pancakes. We just couldn’t resist the splurge. It was quite cloudy but the sand was illuminated. So naturally, it was another photo opportunity moment.

  • We all agreed to have homemade lunch today so Neil, Ron, Rui and Joey went to the market to buy shrimps, milkfish, mussels, clams and green mangoes. Yum yum! Lunch was a blast! Loved the shrimp in garlic and butter! And of course I loved the grilled stuffed milkfish! I finished last - everyone’s chatting and making fun of me for devouring the fish - so Owen and I had some bonding time doing the dishes while singing our hearts out to Paolo Nutini’s “Loving You”. And as soon as we’re done, we hit the water again to join the others. Woohoo! We got to view the amazing sunset this time.

  • Another night out. Neil was too tired so he dozed off. We went on a "senti-trip" playing sentimentals from Owen and Ron's iPods while waiting for our turn at the bathroom. After two hours, we're all set. The guys (Ron and Jong) wanted to ride. B’ley and I wanted to walk. Guess who won. Yep! We strolled along the shores to station 2 again. Yahoo!

  • Just like the past 2 nights, we met everyone at Hey Jude having endless drinks. B’ley and Jong left us for Aria to eat. While they’re enjoying their pasta, Ron and I had some serious chat over beer and lots of (my new favorite) tenga, then some photos. When B’ley and Jong returned, we hopped to Club Paraw where we had more drinks (Tequila yeah!) and danced the night away. I went home at 1am hoping I would have a longer sleep this time.
Day 4
  • I woke up at 6am (haaay) again and felt my ears, “Shet, may hikaw pa ko!” I was too drunk to do my before-bed rituals. I was still in my party clothes! So I got up and changed. And then I went to the beach. It was so cold out. The sand was damp but I didn’t care. I spread my sarong, had my towel around me, played songs from my phone and read Ron’s book, “Stardust”. Chokie the dog sat right beside me.

  • B’ley, Jong and I went to have breakfast at Café del Sol. I suddenly felt the hangover kicking so I had some orange juice, which didn’t seem to work. After a while, it started subsiding and we went to Lemon I Café to meet the rest of the gang. Then they headed back to the room via trike, while I took off my cover up as B’ley and I headed back by foot. This is so far the best sun that we had while enjoying the beach.

  • At lunch, we ate what was left of yesterday. There were lots of shrimps left and it tasted even better having been soaked overnight in butter and garlic. Guess who finished last—it was me again of course! Haha! When everyone was done eating, Ron put the few shrimps left on my plate for me to finish. Good job!

  • I started losing my voice in the evening. We lounged at the dining area near our rooms and had Bailey’s and vodka. I treated everyone to some chicharon and isaw. Unfortunately, they ran out of tenga – harsh! Then we ran out of ice. So we went out and walked to Hey Jude. The sky was starlit. Suddenly, Owen pointed up, “Uy Orion!” Then Neil said, “Tito Vic and Joey!” Hahaha… here we go!
    “Melchor, Gaspar, Baltazar!”
    “Peter, Paul and Mary!”
    “Gomez, Burgos, Zamora!”
“Si Amy, si Morgan at si Lulu!”
    “Bo-bo, Yo-yo, Ong-ong!”

We danced the night away again at Hey Jude. We met new people- some of Ron’s friends. I had lots of vodka sprite this time sharing it with Neil while dancing. I suddenly missed our Bedspace gimmicks. Then I went to get some air while finishing the last glass. When I returned, I got a text from Neil saying he went home already. One by one they were taking off. Ron and I were left mingling with his friends. After a while, we rode a trike home while still chatting. That was fun!

Day 5
  • Woke up without voice. Shoots! And my tonsils are swollen. Harsh! B’ley, Jong and I got up to prepare for breakfast. We splurged at Seawind. I enjoyed the tuyo! Neil joined us after an hour and then we took a swim and some more photos. Afterwards, we had chicken inasal at station 2.

  • After siesta, we got ready for the last night out. Ron knocked at our door to check on us. When he saw me, he said, “Wow ang ganda naman ng dress. Parang pupunta sa prom!” Aww, that was nice. Except that I wasn’t wearing a dress. It was a long skirt and a tube top. Hehe.

  • We got to D’Mall and as we were walking and throwing jokes (they were), Ron just had to tease me—“Waaah, hindi makahirit!” Hmph! *Ismid* At Aria, we had our dinner, then some photos and then we transferred to Hey Jude for a last drink & dance. I remember Ron and I even dancing to Vogue haha! Panalo. Then he asked, “Ano gusto mong drink? Libre kita.” Wow, I don't often get that. Ask and I shall receive - he got me a vodka sprite with cherry. Nice! Towards the end of the gimmick, he seemed amazed to see me still standing. I said, “Wala lang naman akong boses eh.” We called it a night at 3am.

Day 6
  • I woke up at 9am (yes!) but everybody’s gone. Shoot! They left me. Well, B’ley said that I was sound asleep and she didn’t want to wake me. Good job! It’s just that I missed the last breakfast. I took the alone time to pack my things and get ready. As soon as I’m done, I went out to the beach for a last look. Wow, the sun was absolutely amazing. This day has the best color of the beach. So I took more pictures and with myself in them. I wish everyone was there.

  • They’re still out when I returned so I sat outside the room and read some more “Stardust”. At around 11am, Jong and B’ley came followed by Joey, Neil and Ron some minutes after. They asked how my voice is. “Wala pa rin.” Haaay

  • At past 12 noon, we took our ride to the port. Ron shouted, “Bye Boracay!” and dared me to do the same. Hah! When we got to the airport, I was so starving! I treated everyone to pansit and halo-halo at Miggy’s nearby. The food was delish!

  • Plane is here! Kissed Joey and hugged Ron goodbye at 4:50pm before they board PAL. And then we waited for our 2-hr delayed flight at 6:30pm. Jong, Neil and I killed time playing cards even until we’re airborne and landing. Beats the hell out of those Cebu Pac games harhar!

It was sad leaving the beach but I know I’ll go back. This is by far, the best vacation I’ve ever had. Six days and five nights of great sun, sand and water with equally great friends. I’m blessed to have spent my first Boracay trip with them. And for me, it wasn’t only a blast. It was magical ;-)

Thanks to Ron for sharing the pics. More pics in this link.
