Saved By The Ben

It's been so difficult at the office lately with stuff I need to look after, and some of them I unintentionally neglect. At some point I would wonder if it's something medical. Do I need to go see a doctor? Or do I just need to get an almost impossible "enough sleep"? Pressure is everywhere and I silently scream for relief-- a most awaited break (wherever that is).

Last night was the first time in a very long time that I really dreaded going to work. If only I can opt not to get out of bed anytime I want to. But I looked forward to the end of day when I will be on a short trip with my friends to visit another friend. I thought that would relieve my stress. Unfortunately and much to my disappointment, I had to pass since they wanted to go at 4, and it was too early for me to get off work. It got me so upset that I had to put my shades on as I work and tears started rolling down my face. Yes, I cry when I'm upset.

So this morning, I only overstayed for 30 minutes (as opposed to the usual 3 to 4 hours) and decided to head out. I thought I needed something to get my mind off work, so I texted Steven who's currently on his way home to mom. We had so much fun exchanging silly and serious stuff about whatever until I reached the few last stations of the MRT. Then most unexpectedly, he texted:

"Oh and I never had the chance to tell you thanks for being such a great friend despite my bluntness and stubborness... just thought I'd do so... :)"
He's never neeeever ever cheesy when it comes to me, so guess what-- I almost cried. I had to control it! Obviously, I was so touched.

In fairness Steven ha, magaling ang timing! Thank you so much :-)

Mulan, Recipes, Centerstage and DBK

Saturday night started out arriving fashionably late and dragging my new platform wedges (yeah just have to mention it haha) from the MRT to OnStage Greenbelt 1 to watch the play "Mulan Jr." (why it has "Jr" remains unanswered), where Felix Rivera plays Li Shang. I loved his performance as Princeton/Rod in Avenue Q; and I've "hearted" Li-Shang since the movie.

While en route, Steven texted that they're at the 6th row. When I got there, it was already the intermission and Steven along with his pals, was smiling and giving this "Myls you're late!" look. Nuninuninu... And Jon was so sweet to reserve my seat and compliment my shoes (thanks Jon!). After the kiddie play, I made myself useful snapping their pictures outside the theatre. Too bad though Felix was just a few feet from where we were but there were too much people to squeeze in for a photo op. Oh well... somebody said "I'm hungry la!" (ay ako pala yon) so we headed to Recipes.

As we walked towards Greenbelt 3, AR came up to me and said that he's glad to have finally met me. I thought that was awesome! And I'm so glad to be welcomed to their crowd :)

We had a good meal and of course I was enjoying my favorite Bangus Steak, and still snapping pictures of everyone. Most of all, it's laughtrip and good vibes everywhere! After dinner, it's karaoke time! I got an hour left though. We headed to Centerstage (formerly IO) and sang our hearts out to the current addiction: Mamma Mia! soundtrack hehehe...

I hated to go at 15 minutes to twelve but I have to be at another party. The guys suddenly turned into kids and all were saying "nooooooo!" Heart! But it didn't work haha! I said bye and took a cab to Saturday's main event.

DBK v.7

Death By Kapistahan celebrating Dyosa's birthday and DBK's first year anniversary. It's a fiesta theme so everyone's supposed to wear something colorful-- which explains my happy outfit hehe. And because it's DBK, it's definitely another night of pure RIOT! See, you can put us absolutely anywhere and still get a good dose of fun- outrageous even! From name games, to turning-Indian ideas, to shooting music videos, to fashion show, and Owen's early invite for his 40th birthday! LOL. Of course, there's the staple photo op's and getting drunk. Then there were also other guests from Dyosa's other circles; and we got them some culture shock too heehee! We terribly missed Rui though; he didn't make it to the party.

And some patterns I noticed. One year ago. One year later...

Same pose, same photographer

Need I say more?

And still doing the folk dance

I wonder what year 2 will be! ;-)

The Devil Wants WIFI

And so I'm finally blogging, and currently at Starbucks just having finished my most awaited coffee jelly. Been trying to get my WIFI at home to work but it's still playing hard-to-get. I couldn't login to the Internet through the router. I'm still figuring out how to go around it.

In the middle of that busy-ness, here comes Ron texting me about how he found the Griffin & Sabine story so weird (I loaned him the first trilogy). Sabine being a stalker and all. That's the whole point of it -- that story still being a mystery as of this typing (because I don't have the next trilogy yet). And so he was asking if the two characters met. I said that it looks like it since Sabine sent a message to somebody using Griffin's postcard. But then the question is, what happened before that? How did they meet despite the "time space warp" distance between them? Also the exact question I left Ron. Hah, abangan ang susunod na kabanata. Then we competed on trying to answer it with silly stuff (that I will not mention here because it's not going to be as funny), and trying to outdo each other. I won this time. Hehehe :p

Yesterday, Noel invited me for another pig out at the weekend market in Salcedo. At nearly lunch time, we decided to go with Gian and gang (sorry, I'm so bad with names and matching them with faces) to yet another viewing of A Very Special Love starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo (walang mangengeelam! mahal ko rin si John Lloyd). And I was excited too because Gian was so into John Lloyd that she would giggle when I deliver some of the lines in the movie. Haha! Gian, by the way, is a new acquaintance. She and Noel are from the same account; and I can also see us hanging out more soon ;) Anyway, Noel and I reached Glorietta an hour prior to screening to meet them for the movie. Then I got Steven's text asking if I happen to be at the mall. With a few more texts later, I broke the news to them that I will not be joining, to Gian's slight disappointment. (Slight nga ba? Hehe... sorry Gian! :p)

Steven hardly hollers for quality time (QT) so I decided to ditch the movie and accompany him. I told him that Gian wanted to say, "epal ka!" hahaha. He wanted to update his wardrobe - new shirts, new jeans and a new pair of shoes. So we went to MOA for a change which he was refusing at first because he said it's too far. I said, "HELLO! Ang malayo, Novaliches!" He said it's been a long time since he last went there and he was surprised that we got there really quick with a short train and bus ride. He had a strictly set budget in mind. Knowing him, that's not a surprise. But then I played devil pointing at pairs of shoes that I like. He ended up buying a pair of Gola, and a pair of Chucks. Haha, times like this, I just love my influence on this guy! As we were checking out some stuff, he asked if I'm going to shop too. I told him about this "SOP" or whatever you may call it-- that I don't shop when I'm with guys because I don't like making them wait. Besides, my cash is going extinct. May as well wait for payday. Anyway, QT was uber fun! He even treated me to iced coffee from Mrs. Fields (believe it or not).

After shopping for his stuff, and so tired and sleepy coming from GY shift, we went straight to his condo. I adopted his never-used router that came with his laptop-- which is why I'm setting it up at home. We went out again after about 30 minutes. I was heading home and he's going to meet his friends for dinner. Heading to the MRT station, I took the usual route - passing through three malls: Landmark, Glorietta and SM. Then I suddenly thought of the DBK party that we're going to have next Saturday. I thought why not stop and see what's in The Ramp store, then buy whatever I find on payday. Naturally, and as predictable as it is, I texted Steven: "So much for tipid mode. I just bought a dress from Glorietta. Heading home now before I sell my house haha!" Sigh... the "must shop on weekend" bug bit me again. Swipe swipe! Hehe.

My (ugh) WIFI at Starbucks is almost up so I gotta go. I think I'm gonna check screening schedules, see if I can still squeeze in a movie before I go home. See ya next post!
