Usapang Parlor and then some

Saturday. End of shift. Beginning of weekend. Good vibes.

Time: Noon. Owen and I indulged ourselves into some pampering at Piandre. Our first "Kikay day". While he's getting his haircut & massage, and I'm getting my footspa & mani-pedi, we enjoyed our chat about our Bora vacation last year, our last night out, our friends, and ourselves.
Owen's quotable quote: (On me) "Friend... aminin natin, dati Candy Pangilinan ka... ngayon Sharon Cuneta - Pangilinan ka na!" Hahaha! Ang mga friends ko, magaling talaga sa analogy. We agreed that it's a bloggable moment. Usapang parlor, bow. I missed Owen!

Time: Earlier. Three things from this morning's Starbucks hangout:
1. Credit Card 101 for 2 Starbucks frap:
"Bakit nag-credit card ka pa?"
"Sayang points."
2. I really don't like caramel. I tried Starbuck's sampler of Dulce de Leche Frap. Blech!
"Kala ko ba ayaw mo ng caramel? Eh mauubos mo na o!"
"Eh sayang eh!"
3. And I must agree with Chi-- Coffee Jelly never tasted so good :-)

Reporting from Nova

Surprisingly got this text message a while ago:

"(Telling me where he was as of his texting)... Anyway huy it's jazz and rockets game 2... Can you update? Haha :p Can't reply though."

Aba pensionado ah! Eh pero mabait ako eh noh?

Here we go!

And after the countless texts while tuning in to ESPN online for real time scores, not to mention the dead locks and the too close 85-80 (for Jazz) score at the last two minutes driving me nuts, I reported the Jazz won at 90-84. Kevin Korver saves the day ;) Booyah!
Next game on Thursday, 10:30pm EST. Jeez, I just hope they would have a live coverage just like last Sunday.

Random Thoughts

Home alone with the dogs yet again. I'm anticipating text messages from the 4am ladies. We're going to have our first movie night tonight... well as of this typing, that's what I know hehe.

-oOo-

Million dollar question again last Friday: "What's your agenda this weekend?". And my almost always answer is the same- "none". Well I was supposed to be doing some reading, excitedly anticipating the Harry Potter book 7 that Ron's going to loan me. Unfortunately, he didn't make it to work last Friday. Sad. Huhuhu... There goes my Saturday.

-oOo-

Early this morning I texted Teban bye for his 9-day vacation. He reported that there's going to be a Utah Jazz vs. Houston Rockets playoff today. Hoowaw! I reignited my craze for basketball during our Laguna trip when we tuned in to the games before going home. I haven't been religiously following NBA since Jordan went *kaput!* from Bulls, and Robert Jaworski retired from PBA. Since I don't have a new team so side with, I opted to cheer with Teban for Utah Jazz... for now hehe.

So I waited for the game and tuned in. I texted Teban giving him the score as of 5 minutes off the second quarter. He's so envious and he wanted to watch so badly; and he couldn't because he's at the airport waiting for his delayed flight. Therefore, he asked me to keep him updated. It was an edge-of-your-seat game especially during the 3rd quarter. Teban impatiently waits for my play-by-play update which is more of giving him the current score, and raving about Deron Williams kicking ass on the court. Utah Jazz would lead the game at 8 to 14 points. And Teban said he's cheering at the waiting lounge. I was doing exactly the same thing except that I don't have a friend giving me a "you're crazy" look. Hehehe. Game 1 of the playoff ended with 93-82 in favor of Jazz. We went "yaaay!!!" Next games will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Wahoo! I got the text and we're a go for movie night! Gotta run!

I Conquered Vista!

Whew! Just got off my unusual "Helpdesk mode". I've been tinkering with two laptops -- mine and Teban's -- because we couldn't get the friggin' Windows Vista to detect his iPod! This can't be happening! I'm planning to get myself an iPod too so I HAVE to make this work.
So I went online to abuse google and hop into forums. They all lead to downloading service packs from Microsoft, which I did but then it returned a "not applicable" error.
Ngarrr... it's getting into my nerves. So I stopped to clear my head... and got myself a home service foot spa (haha!)
Afterwards, I went back to work. Then a light from above shone on me and angels were singing "Hallelujiah! Hallelujiah!" ....(will spare everyone from boring tech jargons here)... I plugged the iPod in and there it was! It charged and iTunes automatically launched!
Witwiw!!!
So naturally, I texted Teban "Good news... yada yada" and he's delighted to know that it's finally working with a "Wow! How?" question hehe. I just said I used my charms ;-) And the next thing I did was to create a backup of the songs from his iPod into his harddisk.
Hoowaw, makakatulog na ko'. I conquered the friggin' Vista! Haha. Adik!

Tongue Twister

Napa-cartwheel ako... (text message from Garv)

"Waiting for someone you love is never easy especially when the right one you are waiting for isn't aware that you were waiting...

Tongue twister yan, wag ka mag-emote! :-D"

So naturally, I forwarded it to my friends...

Brian: "Taena, parang tiny bubbles"
Rui: "Hahaha panalo!"
Stewed:
"Tae ka, nasa moment na ko eh."
Neilquito: "Wushu! If I know nag-emote ka jan! =p"

Who else wants to comment? :-D

New Old Friend

I "found" a "new old friend" this week. Or something to that effect.

We first met on August 2007 at a birthday party. We're never even introduced. After dozing off from too much drink, I just woke up, went to the kitchen and asked a friend for water. He tapped my back and said, "O gising na pala to' eh". (He probably doesn't remember that.)

We met again at a series of get-togethers at another friend's pad, where he played a trigger-happy photographer. Once he called me "Favorite", and then next thing I know I was in a lot of the pictures taken that day. (Hmm he probably doesn't remember that either.)

We all had a blast with our 6-day Boracay getaway last November, where (and I quote Rui) we strengthened existing bonds and forged new ones (e.g. me and him). Yep, he made my first Bora trip extra special. Hence the testimonial I posted on his Friendster profile.

Since we work at the same office, we would have meet-greet-and-joke weekly after the trip. He broadcasted a nice Happy New Year greeting via text. But we kinda lost communication after some time. I wouldn't dare send him another YM or text, thinking that I might bother or annoy because he's so busy. We hardly communicated in February this year.

When March came, I asked another friend how he's been doing. I learned that he's out of town to attend a family matter. Although we haven't talked for so long, I was still kinda concerned so I texted to let him know that I'm wishing him well. He replied "Thanks".

All of a sudden, the comm lines reopened. I found it surprising that we're having more interactions now. And after getting back from my Cebu-Bohol trip, I decided to drop by his post to say hi. Welcomed with a hug, we had a wonderful hour of catching up. Although he did say "Bakit parang tumatabarn ka?". I thought, langhiyang to'... kaya! Hahaha! But of course I said "Masarap kumain eh". Which is true, right?

Lately, we've been chatting online exchanging outrageous jokes, and serious talks. It's amazing to know that we have lots of things in common-- number one of which is our passion for friendship.

Early this week, we made a huge deal. From now on, we're going to be (real) FRIENDS.

I... am... deeply honored... overwhelmed... grateful... blessed. I don't remember ever feeling so important. Hoowaw.... Good job dude!

Fine, pa-blind item pa eh. Si Ron yon! Hahaha.... Ron, maraming salamat! :-)
